The story of Boo

This is Boo, always sleeping under my writing desk and now and again looking up with these deep brown eyes pleading for a walk. It’s always a good idea. I come back with new ideas and problems solved. Boo’s four, a cocker spaniel with all the characteristics I admire – enthusiasm, curiosity, willingness and straight up eye-to-eye contact. She’s always here and up for anything. She is named after the Boo Boos… cheeky little elves originally created by the extraordinary illustrator and writer Mabel Lucie Attwell, who is my parter’s great grandmother.

Boo is part of my writing day, she earns her walks in the woods and place in the news.
